Because you are reading this, I guess it has probably happened to you too. One minute your Xbox 360 is fine, then suddenly the smiling green ring turns into a horrible shade of red. So now you want to know how to fix your Xbox 360.
Up until now if you ever wanted to fix your Xbox 360 yourself, you would have to follow some pretty suspect methods. Have you ever heard of the "Towel Trick" fix? If you haven't, I would highly recommend staying well away from it. Basically you are supposed to wrap your Xbox in a towel and wait for it to heat up. Once it has heated up, your Xbox will magically become fixed! You are more likely to set your house on fire than anything else!
I have also read that if you need to fix your Xbox 360 all you need to do is crack open the Xbox case and get stuck in with a soldering iron. The Xbox 360 is a high tech piece of equipment, not something as simple as a toaster. If you try using a soldering iron to fix it, you are more than likely to seriously damage your Xbox 360.
So what other options are there?
One option would be to send your Xbox 360 back to Microsoft for them to fix it for you. But if you are like me, and have had your Xbox 360 for a few years, your warranty would have expired long ago. So that means you will have to pay $140 plus shipping for them to fix your Xbox 360. Also, you will be without your console for up to 8 weeks. Thats a lot of time and money just to fix your Xbox 360!
Also bear in mind, even if your warranty is still valid, you will still have to pick up the shipping charge.
The best way around this is to actually do it yourself. Thankfully there are a lot of companies on the internet who teach you exactly how to fix your Xbox 360.
